Accepted Materials

We accept the following polymers on a regular basis. If you have other plastic material,
we may still be able to help with recycling:

  • ABS
  • Acrylic
  • HDPE
  • LDPE
  • Nylon
  • PET
  • Polycarbonate
  • Polypropylene
  • Polystyrene
  • PVC
  • Stretch Film (LLDPE)
  • Urethane (Foam Only)

While our main focus is plastic, RMI can also assist with your paper, cardboard, or metal waste.

Our primary service radius for those looking to sell clean plastic waste is 250 miles outside of metro Atlanta. We have exported across the US, as well as Canada, India, China and Vietnam.

Yes, when sorted we can take multiple plastic materials and other sorted recyclable materials. However, you should call us to determine if your materials are desirable, and how best to ship them.

No, we do not take any post-consumer recyclables. This includes used food or drink containers and random household items. We take containers that have never held food, drink, or chemicals.

Not usually, but as a convenience to our customers, we will take these materials if accompanied with a load of plastic materials.

No cash is ever on site. Some checks are written on Fridays for small amounts of material, with a minimum of $100.

No. Large corporations have prohibited the recycling of their plastic materials with imprinted logos. All accepted materials have a signed release with a guarantee of full certificate of ownership.

We do not accept medical waste, hazardous waste, electronic scrap, post-consumer waste, random household items, shrink film, styrofoam (expanded polystyrene, EPS) or cross-linked plastic (nothing with an “X” in it).

Commingled scrap is worth significantly less than sorted materials. Deductions will be made for contamination and any necessary disposal of trash. We will work with you to determine the best way to keep your waste streams separated when designing your customized recycling program.
